Josh Griess Period 2 2/13/11 The Great impact of the Colombian exchange The Colombian exchange has saved my family’s life and quality of life. We were living week to week before the big exchange came to the new world now we are flourishing with wealth all because the plantation is doing great. Having all this new product and cheap help to grow it, and maintain it is exactly what everyone needed over here I know we did. It would have been another dark age here without the exchange to boost the plantations. Every time this huge ships come in its like having just pure money. Labor is cheap and we treat them well they help us grow all our new crops. This boost to the economy can not have helped more. The affects of this on everyday life is outstanding every ones moral is up and people have extra money to pend on wants. We have many cash crops including rice, wheat, and wine grapes, many of these had not been previously available. We have gotten some new live stock from the old world including horses, cattle, and sheep these all lead to more money and better life styles for everyone. So what I’m stating is that for all of us the exchange has provided us with happiness. we can now go to sleep without worrying if our families will starve. There does not have to be another dark age because of the Colombian exchange.
