Invaders of the New World

(From the perspective of a citizen of the new world.)

The New World(The Americas) has just been discovered by the Old World (Afroeuroasia). There was already native people there. The New World travelers decided to stay there and they make plantations. These plantations are very big and they don’t have enough people to work on them, they also don’t want to spend the money playing for workers.
They decide to try and make the Native Americans do their work for free. Slavery. The Native Americans refused to work, they starved them self’s and fled to the land that they knew so well. They were proud people and they were not going to give up easily. They thought dying instead of being forced to work was better.
They Old World travelers were very mean and demanded respect without giving it. They Native Americans would not stand for this. This was their land and they were not going to be forced to do anything. The travelers thought this was a good thing, finding the New World but it was not a good thing, at least not for the Native Americans.
The travelers brought diseases over too. This is called the Columbian exchange. This had a big impact on society it killed many people and brought very bad times to the New World citizens. They did not have the recourses we have today. A broken arm or leg could mean death. If you caught the common cold they you were most likely to die. Many of the natives knew the land well so they were able to run away but the ones who were left behind most likely died.
It got even worse when they started being over Africans. The Africans were kept in such bad conditions on the very long boat ride that they most likely brought even more diseases over. Now there was twice as many people dieing. This was a bad time for the Native Americans and even worse time for the Africans.

The Native Americans had it “easy”, they could escape but the Africans could not. They didn’t know the land that well and they were lost. They had no chance to run. They were also very proud people but they were out of their element. Taken from their homeland and forced to work on the plantations.

The discovery of the New World was a very bad thing for everyone but the Old World. It brought diseases over and killed many people, started the Columbian exchange, and took many peoples freedom. There may have been many benefits for the Old World but not for the New Would.
